Andrés Segovia: The Guitar and I, Vol. II (1972)

Decca DL 7-10182
Side 1 of this album features Segovia talking about his history with the guitar, while side 2 is a studio recording of 15 studies for the guitar. This was a thrift shop find (99¢), in very good condition.

There are many Andrés Segovia compilation CDs, so I cannot be certain that some tracks from this LP are not on CD, however, they do not appear on The American Decca Recordings I, and I did not find any mp3s of these sample tracks. Please alert me if these tracks are available digitally, and they will be promptly removed.

Associated equipment: Technics SL-7, Ortofon X1-MCP, Pro-Ject Phono Box S, harman/kardon CDR-2.

Giuliani: Larghetto in G Major

Giuliani: Allegretto in C Major

Sor: Con Calma in D Minor

Tárrega: Study in the form of a Minuet

My first exposure to classic and romantic music (Segovia speaking)

  4. I had purchased this album in '77 and learned a few of the excerises that were within my ability to play. would it be possible to download the rest of the songs so i can get reaquainted with the music. i lost the album. probably lent it out and never returned.

  5. I'm glad you found these tracks. I only post a few sample tracks from each LP on Not On CD, to raise interest in these out-of-print records.
