Nonesuch H-71338
Clifford Jackson, baritone
William Bolcom, piano
This was a thrift shop find (99¢), along with three other Nonesuch LPs featuring William Bolcom. They all had a "Promotion Copy" sticker, and they were all in excellent condition.
I really enjoy Bolcom's piano playing; I'll listen to any music when he is the accompanist, some I wouldn't otherwise listen to.
Bolcom is also a composer of note. His "Graceful Ghost" is a personal favorite.

Thank you for posting. This is a great, a grand album, and Clifford Jackson is marvelous. Why this has not been made into a CD is baffling. Another great song: "Woodman Spare that Tree".
ReplyDeleteThis a great, a grand album. Clifford Jackson is peerless. Another magnificent song is "Woodman Spare that Tree". Why this, and Bolcom's "Who Shall Rule This American Nation: The Songs of Henry Clay Work" and "Lime Jello Marshmallow" are not on CD is a mystery.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. I'm pleased you like the tracks and this album.
ReplyDeleteThere are sample tracks for "Lime Jello" here:
